Since 1988, The Louis Berger Group (Berger) has been selected four times by the Baltimore District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to support the District with professional and technical assistance in design, programming, scheduling, HTRW, cost estimating, interagency liaison, claims analysis, construction management, and resident engineering and inspection. The Baltimore District encompasses Northern Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Washington, D.C.

Berger is providing the technical and engineering personnel for placement in eight Area Office field locations of the Corps of Engineers. Berger professionals, working under the direction of the Corps Project Site Engineers, are responsible for all aspects of construction management to include: review of construction cost estimates, quality assurance, safety, material evaluation and acceptance, testing, documentation, contractor evaluation, change order generation, claims and delay/impact analysis, invoice review and approval, reporting, schedule analysis, labor compliance review, regulatory (OSHA, etc.) enforcement, construction engineering, shop drawing reviews, verification of contractor quantities, and acceptance and project close out.

Work has included:

  • Resident Engineering and Inspection
  • Hazardous Waste Investigations
  • Interpretation of chemical analysis data for military and non-military
  • Superfund Sites Development and implementation of Health and Safety Plans and Site O&M plans
  • Quality Assurance and Site Monitoring
  • Design, bidability and constructibility review
  • Cost Estimating using the MCACES system
  • Office Engineering, Contract Administration and Change Order analysis
