Water Resource Planning and Management

The Louis Berger Group's multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers has extensive national and worldwide experience in the planning, design, and implementation of water resource projects. Project experience includes analyses of how water quality and quantity interrelate with issues such as power generation, fisheries and terrestrial habitat, recreational uses, cultural resources, local economics, and land use. We provide a comprehensive array of services and can incorporate study results into an Environmental Assessment or Environmental Impact Statement for permitting, licensing or basin planning.

Our team has worked on water resources projects at all stages, from concept and feasibility to design, implementation, and post-implementation evaluations. All our projects carefully accommodate and balance the existing and future uses of a water resource and the changing needs of affected communities. We work closely with our Clients to address all issues of concern, and many of our studies include public participation through public meetings and other stakeholder processes.

Our Capabilities include:

  • Watershed Management
  • Water Quality and Quantity Studies
  • Hydropower Licensing
  • Field Investigations
  • Water and Power Development
  • Assessment of Drainage, Flood Control Measures, and Soil Remediation
  • Hydrological and Hydraulic Studies
  • GIS-based Analyses
  • Ecological Assessments
