The Ankara Metro
The Ankara Metro Consultants, with The Louis Berger Group as the lead partner of the joint venture (63%), was awarded a contract to perform engineering and project management services to the Greater Municipality of Ankara for the design construction and operation of the 14.6 kilometer Phase I Ankara Metro Heavy Rail Project. Total construction contract value is approximately USD 660 million Contract duration includes 48 months during construction/ installation and an additional 12 months for the commercial operation phase. The contract for engineering and project management services was awarded on 29 April, 1993. Current value of engineering services including contingency id USD 11.042,157. Of this amount approximately USD 4 million is the engineering and design review portion. On 29 December, 1997 the system was open for revenue service. The scope of design services provided includes the following items for Phase I together with appropriate provisions to accommodate system expansion: 1.
Stations (Approximate Value of Design Related Work USD 650,000) ALIGNMENT: Plans and Profiles, Trackwork CIVIL: Excavation and Formwork/Erection Plans, Structural, Protection of Adjacent Properties and Structures, Maintenance and Protection of Traffic, Utility Relocation. ARCHITECTURAL: Architectural Plans and Profiles, Vertical and Horizontal Circulation, Interaction with the Environment and Urban Setting, Architectural Finishes and Details, Intermodal Transfer Facilities. BUILDING SERVICES: Mechanical, Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning, Electrical, Escalators, Fire Protection and Detection. 2.
