First Energy Berger was chosen by FirstEnergy to develop alternative routing scenarios between substations over approximately one hundred miles of 500kV transmission line. Mapping information, available online, was incorporated into GIS to design various routing scenarios. Berger also digitized maps of the transmission infrastructure for GIS overlays. A licensing review and permitability study was completed for each of the alternative routes to include all possible agencies, commissions, and municipalities to connect the three substations. |
