Applicant Prepared Environmental Assessment

In order to meet the growing needs of 12 natural gas customers in the southeastern market, Transco proposes to provide 204,099 Dth/day of new capacity to their existing system, including 80,000 Dth/day to Santee Coopers planned Rainey GS. The facilities would consist of 44.3 miles of 24-, 42- and 48-inch-diameter pipeline and 31,500 horsepower of compression in Alabama and Georgia. In addition, Santee Cooper would construct and operate 2.1 miles of 16-inch-diameter pipeline to its planned power GS in Anderson County, S.C. FERC approved the SouthCoast Expansion Project, placed into service in November 2000.
