provides management, technical, and consulting services to:
GET is global in scope,
but has a particularly strong and longstanding presence in Asia.
Our experience in Asia is based on firm relationships with Asian partners,
both in the public and private sectors, gained by demonstrating our
knowledge and expertise in cleaner production principles and practices. The Global Environmental Team has begun its experience in the Asian market but its true experiences lies world-wide as a part of Louis Berger Group Inc. Presently it is a part of the United States-Asian Environmental Partnership (USAEP) throughout Asia and the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Prevention Project/Climate Change Supplement in India (GEP-CCS).
The Louis Berger Group has been in Asia almost as long as the company has been in existence. Founded in 1953, the firm, with approximately 3500 employees worldwide, has grown to become one of the largest engineering consulting groups in the world. Berger has field offices and projects in more than 60 developing countries and economies in transition worldwide. The firm has a strong physical presence in Asia – maintaining offices in Cambodia, China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. Our experience in Asia is well rounded and includes work in infrastructure development, policy and planning, economic sustainability, environment, democratization and peace keeping, and health. Our expertise in the region is strengthened by our strong engineering, social and physical science focus. LBG believes it is
important to be able to work effectively with host governments—at
central, regional, and local levels—as well as with private firms,
PVOs, local NGOs and local community groups. In Asia, the GET Team
has worked closely with local environmental institutions such as the
Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Friends of the Environment
Fund in Indonesia, the Federation of Thai Industries, the Indian Chamber
of Commerce Environmental Management Center, and the Environmental
Management and Research Society of Malaysia. Our team has also collaborated
with international organizations such as the International Accreditation
Forum (IAF) and the International Organization for Standardization
(ISO) in the promotion of ISO 14001 accreditation for environmental
management systems. |
