The Global Environment Team has created a Trade Finance Unit (TFU) that offers a unique and necessary trade finance service to overseas buyers of US environmental and clean technology products and services.  Through an exclusive agreement with First International Bank, Hartford, CT, the Louis Berger Group created an environmental export finance facility that assists foreign buyers with accessing US-Export Import Bank (Ex-Im) backed loans, tapping into Ex-Im’s preferential environmental exports program. First International holds a Master Guarantee Agreement with Ex-Im, and has been the leading Ex-Im lender for the past four years. We can leverage our overseas staff to perform initial due diligence on the buyer. If they meet Ex-Im credit-worthy standards, we can process the loan through our exclusive finance facility. The ideal transaction size ranges from US$ 250K to US$ 5 million; however, larger projects – up to US$ 10 million - may also be accommodated. Most importantly, these services are offered at no cost to the exporter.
