A comprehensive Corridor Study was conducted of the Southeast Region of the Las Vegas Valley served by the I-515 Freeway. In cooperation with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, Clark County and the Cities of Las Vegas and Henderson a $2 Billion program of transportation improvements was developed which included improvements to I-515, and enhancements to the arterial street and transit systems.
A preliminary design was prepared for $1 Billion in proposed improvements to the I-515 Freeway including widening to 10 Lanes, new interchanges at F street, Pecos Road and Sahara Avenue and reconstruction of the downtown Las Vegas viaduct.
An EIS was prepared which evaluated potential impacts to community facilities, residential and business displacements, minority and low-income populations, noise, air quality, historic resources and other resources on the I-515 Corridor.
As part of the EIS Berger was asked to prepare 8 animation Fly- Throughs for the public meetings and for the news media to show what the future Corridor would look like.
