3D Visualization /Multimedia

The Louis Berger Group Multimedia Services Department was established in the 1980's to provide computer graphic support for LBG’s U.S. and worldwide transportation practice. Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, LBG’s Multimedia Services Department provides a single, centralized location housing Cutting edge computers, software and skilled, trained computer graphics and video technicians.

The specialized nature of this type of work, the considerable investment in state of the art hardware and software, the specialized expertise of the computer graphics technicians, and the short time tables required to meet public meeting schedules make it desirable to prepare computer generated design renderings from a single well equipped, well staffed location. Internet and Wide Area Networking (WAN) technology makes it practical to do this type of work from a remote location while staying in constant communication with the design engineer.

The Louis Berger Group Multimedia Services Department has prepared over a thousand computer generated design renderings for transportation agencies throughout the world. We have prepared computer renderings, videos and animations of proposed transportation projects for use in public meetings by the Nevada Department of Transportation, the Arizona Department of Transportation, the New Mexico State Highway and Transportation Department, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, The New York Department of Transportation, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the City of Newark, New Jersey, the City of Manchester, New Hampshire, Clark County, Nevada, the Public Works Department of Japan and the Vietnam Ministry of Transportation.

The type of work provided for these clients have included:
·       Full video, film and animation productions.
·       still computer generated renderings, where the proposed improvements such as bridges, retaining walls, noise walls, embankments, etc. are digitally superimposed on a photograph from specific viewpoints.
·       animated computer generated renderings, where a photograph of a site is transformed before the eyes of the viewer to show phases of a project or moving elements.
·       drive through animation, where a viewer travels through a three dimensional computer model of the project site and views the model from the perspective of the driver.
·       interactive animation, where a viewer travels through a three dimensional computer model of the project site and can view the proposed improvements from any location within the model through translation in three dimensions and 360 degree rotation.
