National Airport Master Plan
The Berger Group was commissioned by the Egyptian Holding Company for Airport and Air Navigation (EHCAAN) to prepare a nationwide airport master plan. The master plan will address the essential needs of Egypt's 13 national and nine international airports.

To develop the national airport plan, Berger conducted a number of studies to evaluate current operations, assess future traffic growth, analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the existing national airport system, identify airport capacity, prepare investment schedules and cost estimates and identify alternative airport development options. The Team also developed state-of-the-art models for evaluating and updating the plan to accommodate anticipated future traffic growth. To ensure that adequate passenger and cargo capacity is available, an overall strategy for the development of airport facilities was prepared, including terminal expansions and cargo upgrades. Additionally, Berger's studies considered the specialized role that each airport should play within the national airport system.

Following the completion of studies, the Team prepared investment plans for all Egyptian airports based on forecasts of future demand, including financing requirements for each airport and opportunities for attracting private finance. Finally, the Team will provide training for the Ministry of Civil Aviation and EHCAAN staff in procedures for future updates to the national airport master plan.
