Secaucus Interchange, NJ

The Berger Group, in collaboration with the RBA Group, was commissioned by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to provide final designs for the Secaucus Interchange, including a 3,100-foot-long viaduct connecting Exit 15X of the Turnpike with the recently constructed $1 billion Frank Lautenberg Multi-Modal Transportation Center. The viaduct crosses the New Jersey Transit Main and Bergen Line rail tracks and extensive wetlands. Berger experts incorporated variable radii from 1,000 feet to 250 feet, while adopting a design that would accommodate future transportation improvements under consideration by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), including the connection to the Bergen Arches, Tonnelle Avenue and/or other area roadways. The award-winning, $40 million project was completed on schedule and under budget.
